An incident of extreme barbarity has come to light in Gorakhpur. In the northern rural area of the district, a stepmother murdered her 3-year-old daughter by slitting her throat with an ax and beheading her. It was told that after the death of his first wife, the young man had remarried two months ago to raise his 3-year old innocent child. The police have arrested the accused woman. According to the police, around 11:00 to 12:00 night on Tuesday, February 24, in Imalia alias Vijhara of Pipraich police station area, Triveni Maurya’s newly married wife Pooja Maurya killed her step daughter, 3-year-old innocent girl Aditya alias Lado, by cutting her with a sharp weapon (axe). In the room where the woman committed the crime, there are pictures of God right next to the double bed and a place of worship has been set up. This is the reason why the police is also investigating from the tantra-mantra and witchcraft angle.
Married to take care of the child
The girl’s father Triveni Maurya told that in the month of January, he had married for the second time to raise the girl. His daughter was 3 years old and his first wife had died. Triveni told that his second wife Pooja Maurya never came out of the room after the evening. He was standing outside the house last night around 11 to 12 o’clock, during which he saw her (wife Pooja) going out.

According to Triveni Maurya, they chased her and when she started running, they raised an alarm and the villagers caught her. After this, when he came into the room, he was shocked. He had brutally murdered his daughter. It was told that Triveni married Pooja Maurya for the second time on 25 January 2026 after the death of his first wife. He was three years older than Aditya alias Lado from his first wife. Aditya was sleeping at the time of the incident. When Pooja committed the crime, she neither heard the slightest noise nor had any inkling of it.
Police started investigation from the angle of Tantra-Mantra
The accused woman Pooja Maurya, who was running away from the spot after committing the crime, was caught by the villagers when her husband Triveni raised an alarm. After this the police was informed. Pipraich police and senior officials interrogated the accused Pooja Maurya and after that she was arrested. After this incident, the police is also investigating from the angle of tantra-mantra and worship-recitation, looking at the incident site and all the associates.
CO Ratneshwar Singh of Chaurichaura Circle of Gorakhpur said, last night a woman attacked her daughter with a sharp weapon. During interrogation, it was revealed that this woman, who was married in the month of January, had attacked her 3-year-old step daughter with a sharp weapon, due to which she died.
Police recovered the weapon used in the murder
He said that the accused woman has been arrested and the weapon used in the crime has also been recovered. The police officer says that the reasons behind the incident are being investigated. Besides, a case has been registered and other legal action is being taken.
