
If you want to get a job in Bihar Police then get ready to fulfill this dream. The process of recruitment for 993 posts of constable (operator) has started in the state. The notification was issued by the Central Selection Board (Constable Recruitment) on Monday (February 23, 2026).
Last date of application is 31st March
According to the notification, the process of online application is starting from March 1. The last date of application is 31 March 2026. Online application can be made on the website of the Selection Board (https://csbc.bihar.gov.in). Only candidates who have passed Intermediate in Science can apply for this post.
Written examination will be held in the first phase
It will be mandatory for the candidates to pass with minimum 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics subjects and 45% marks for Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe category. According to the information received from the selection board, written examination will be conducted in the first phase. The written examination will be of IAC level of Bihar School Examination Board. In the question paper of this examination, 25 questions will be related to general knowledge and contemporary issues and 25 questions each will be related to physics, chemistry and mathematics subjects of intermediate level.
Selection will be done five times for physical efficiency.
One mark will be given for each correct answer. Merit list will be formed on the basis of marks obtained in the written examination and reservation will be done category wise as per the vacancies. In the second phase, on the basis of marks obtained in the written examination, reservation of advertised vacancies will be done category wise. Five times successful candidates for each category will be selected for physical efficiency test.
408 posts non-reserved, horizontal reservation for women
For selection on 993 posts of Constable (Operator), the number of non-reserved posts is 408, 99 for Economically Weaker Section, 157 for Scheduled Caste, 10 for Scheduled Tribe, 175 for Extremely Backward Class, 113 for Backward Class and 31 posts have been earmarked for women from backward classes. Of the total posts, 338 posts have been kept for the native women of Bihar on the basis of horizontal reservation and 20 posts have also been kept for the dependents of freedom fighters on the basis of horizontal reservation.
