National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has changed the price of FASTag Annual Pass for the financial year 2026-27.

According to the new order, the price of annual pass for non-commercial vehicles (cars, jeeps and vans) has been increased from Rs 3000 to Rs 3075 from April 1, 2026.

Fastag Annual Pass was launched on August 15 last year. So that the burden of toll fees can be reduced and travel on the highway can be made more convenient.

What is FASTag Annual Pass and who can take it?

FASTag Annual Pass is for vehicle owners who have a non-commercial vehicle and an active FASTag.

Under this pass:

  • It is valid for 1 year or 200 toll crossings

  • Applies to toll plaza of any National Highway

  • Pass automatically expires after crossing 200 tolls or completion of 1 year

This pass can be purchased through Rajmargyatra mobile app or NHAI website.

Why does the price of the pass increase every year?

The government has made a provision under the National Highway Fees (Determination of Rates and Collection) Amendment Rules 2025 that the price of Fastag annual pass will be revised every year.

According to this rule, this slight increase has been made in the price of pass for 2026-27.

How many people are using FASTag Annual Pass right now?

According to the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH):

  • More than 50 lakh people are using Fastag annual pass in the country.

  • About 28 percent of total car toll transactions on national highways now happen through this pass.

Other than this:

  • 11.86 crore Fastags have been issued since 2016.

  • Of these, about 5.9 crore Fastags are active.

  • More than 98 percent toll collection on national highways is through Fastag.

At which toll plazas is the annual pass used the most?

The usage of Fastag Annual Pass is quite high at some toll plazas.

  • Bijwasan toll plaza on Delhi-Gurugram border – About 57 per cent of cars pass through Fastag annual pass

  • Mundka Toll Plaza (UER-II), Delhi – around 53 per cent utilization

  • Jhinjholi Toll Plaza (NH-334P) – About 53 percent of non-commercial vehicles use Fastag annual pass.

At regional level:

  • Chandigarh – 14 percent

  • Tamil Nadu – 12.3 percent

  • Delhi – 11.5 percent

From August 15, 2025 to January 2026, more than 26.55 crore toll transactions have been recorded with the Fastag annual pass.

Is this pass valid at all toll plazas?

No. This pass is valid only at about 1150 toll plazas on National Highways and National Expressways.

At toll plazas on expressways or state highways operated by the state government or local bodies, the FASTag annual pass will work like a normal FASTag and normal toll charges will be applicable.
