Now Executive Engineer of Jal Nigam Yogendra Prasad has come in front of the camera in connection with the embezzlement of government funds in the name of water tank in Hardiya village of Sadar block of Basti district. He has given his clarification on this scam. Till yesterday, those who were seen with folded hands saying that they will not speak today, the day is not good, when ABP News gave prominence to this news, the silence of the officials was broken.
Executive Engineer of Jal Nigam Yogendra Prasad said that the second board installed is for the repair of the water tank. In the year 2020, there was a malfunction in the water tank due to which Rs 32 lakh was spent in repairing it. ABP News asked him that the tank was built 10 years ago, then it was repaired after spending lakhs of rupees, yet why did the Jal Nigam officials demolish the water tank worth Rs 2.5 crore?
Why was the water tank demolished?
Executive Engineer of Jal Nigam Yogendra Prasad could not answer this question of ABP News. Yogendra Prasad said that due to poor quality work, the water tank had started leaking, hence it was demolished for safety reasons. However, he has clarified that a new water tank will be constructed as soon as the government funds are approved.
What is the whole matter?
In fact, in the year 2015-16, a tank was constructed at a cost of Rs 2.25 crore in Hardiya village located in the Sadar block of Basti under the Nirmal scheme. After this, in the year 2019-20, another tank was again built at the same place by spending lakhs of rupees but only on paper. Villagers say that officials come, hang boards and go away. Stand for hours with a bucket, only then you get a sip of water.
