At the same time, there is a chance for Nepal team to reach Super 8. West Indies team has four points in the points table of Group C and its net run rate is 1.625. Scotland’s team is at second place, having two points in 2 matches with one win and one loss. His net run rate is 0.950. England is at third position with 2 points from one win and one loss. With the help of Sherfane Rutherford’s unbeaten 76 runs and Gudakesh Moti’s three wickets, West Indies defeated England by 30 runs. Rutherford entertained the nearly 21,000 spectators present at the Wankhede Stadium by scoring unbeaten 76 runs in 42 balls with the help of five sixes and two fours. While Moti took three wickets for 32 runs in bowling. Chasing the target of 197 runs to win, the England team was out for 166 runs in 19 overs. Sam Curran played the highest unbeaten inning of 43 runs.

Phil Salt scored 30 runs in 14 balls which included four fours and two sixes. He scored 24 runs in the second over of Jason Holder. Salt was caught by Romario Shepherd at cover by Rutherford. After the powerplay, England’s score was 67 runs for one wicket. Jos Buttler (21) also could not last long. He returned after being caught by Powell at long-on off the ball of Roston Chase. After this Moti gave double blow to England. First he got Tom Benton (2) caught out at cover and then Jacob Bethel (33) was dismissed on a chinaman ball. England captain Harry Brook (17) returned by giving a return catch to Moti.

Earlier, with the help of Rutherford’s unbeaten 76 runs, West Indies recovered from a bad start and scored 196 runs for six wickets. West Indies had lost four wickets for 79 runs after ten overs. But 117 runs were scored in the last ten overs. Rutherford made a partnership of 51 runs with Rovman Powell (14) for the fifth wicket. After this, he added 32 runs for the sixth wicket with former captain Jason Holder (33 runs with the help of four sixes and one four in 17 balls). Test captain Roston Chase came at number four and scored 34 runs. In the last overs, Holder hit Sam Curran for three sixes in a single over. Rutherford was given life by Adil Rashid in the 18th over. Holder reduced the pressure on Rutherford by playing a brilliant innings. Rashid, who had received advice from Nepal’s batsmen in the last match, came back strongly and took two wickets for 16 runs.
