The Crime Branch has achieved a major success in the Palam Hotel robbery case in Delhi. Mahesh alias Ganja, the absconding accused involved in this incident, was finally arrested on March 13, 2026. The police had received information that the accused might come to his house in Palam to meet his parents and he was nabbed from there. During interrogation, Mahesh has accepted his role in the hotel robbery.
On the night of 28 September 2025, 5-6 miscreants entered the hotel wearing masks.
According to the police, this case was registered on 29 September 2025 at Palam Village police station. On the night of 28 September, 5 to 6 masked criminals armed with iron rods forcibly entered a hotel in Palam Village area. As soon as the miscreants entered the hotel, they started vandalizing it. Glass panels were broken, furniture and other items were damaged and hotel staff was assaulted. Looted about two lakh rupees from the counter. Hotel employee Priyanshu was injured in the attack and was admitted to the hospital.
CCTV DVR was also taken with them to destroy evidence.
The vicious thinking of the miscreants also came to light in this incident. While leaving, the accused also took with them the DVR of the CCTV cameras installed in the hotel so that no evidence could be left against them. Despite this, the police continued the investigation and kept reaching each and every accused.
Five already arrested, Mahesh was absconding
After the incident, the police had already arrested Hrithik, Mohammad Guy, Prakash alias Chinu, Rakesh and Mohammad Ibrar. But Mahesh alias Ganja had escaped from the police. The crime branch team was continuously searching for him. On March 13, information was received from the informer that the accused might come to Sarojini Nagar area. The police laid a trap there but the accused did not reach. Later, information was received that he might come to his house in Palam to meet his parents and finally he was arrested from there.
