In fact, the Anti Gangster Squad of Crime Branch of Delhi Police has arrested the notorious criminal and leader of Mukhiya gang, Rahul alias Dahur alias Raju Mukhiya, who was absconding for a long time. The accused was caught from Nangli in Dwarka area of Delhi.
According to the police, Rahul Mukhiya is a resident of Madhubani district of Bihar and was running an organized gang carrying out incidents of theft and robbery in houses in many states including Delhi-NCR. There are four criminal cases registered against him in Delhi and Haryana. In three of these cases, the court had declared him a declared criminal.
After recceing the houses, they used to commit theft by impersonating domestic servants.
Police investigation has revealed that Rahul Mukhiya’s gang used to carry out the crime in a very vicious manner. The gang members earlier used to look for houses where wealthy families lived and who needed domestic servants or maids. After this, male and female members of the gang disguised themselves as domestic servants or maids and started working in those houses. After winning the trust of the family for some time, he used to pass on important information like daily routine of the family members, location of cash and jewelery to his associates. Whenever the right opportunity arose, such as the family going out or the house being vacant, other members of the gang would come and run away with jewelery and cash worth lakhs of rupees.
Delhi Police laid a trap on intelligence information
The Crime Branch of Delhi Police had been receiving information about the increase in organized crime and gang activities in the capital for some time. After this, the Anti Gangster Squad was assigned the task of identifying active criminals and arresting them. Police received secret information that Rahul Mukhiya was hiding in Nangli area. After this, on March 30, the police laid a trap in the area and caught him during surveillance.
Allegations of theft up to Rs 1 crore
According to the police, the accused has been involved in many major theft incidents. In 2016, jewelery and cash worth around Rs 25 to 30 lakh were stolen in a theft incident from the house of Dr Pravesh Miglani in Rajouri Garden. In 2014, in Gurugram’s DLF Phase-2, a woman was made unconscious by giving her tea laced with intoxicants and jewelery and cash worth around Rs 1 crore were stolen from her house. The role of Rahul Mukhiya and his associates came to light in these cases.
Arrested several times, still did not appear in court
According to the police, Rahul Mukhiya has already been arrested in several cases and stolen goods were also recovered from him. But every time after getting bail, he did not appear in the court and absconded. For this reason, the court had declared him a declared criminal in many cases.

During interrogation, the accused told that he had studied only till fifth standard. Between 2006 and 2011, he worked as a caretaker in different houses. During this time he met a person named Ramsukh. Together they started targeting houses where their acquaintances worked as domestic servants. Gradually Rahul created a big network of domestic servants and maids and through this he started committing thefts in different states.
Police are investigating the network
The crime branch is now interrogating the accused and trying to find out his entire gang and network. Police believe that many more people are involved in this gang who used to do recce of houses in different states by posing as domestic servants. According to police officials, the arrest of Rahul Mukhiya can reveal many incidents of organized theft through domestic employees.
