
Before Holi, a big gift has been started by the Delhi Government to the daughters of Delhi. President Draupadi Murmu Gave a big gift to ‘Nari Shakti’ by launching four major welfare schemes for women and daughters on behalf of Delhi Government. On this occasion, DBT assistance worth about Rs 100 crore was provided to 40,642 girls, which will strengthen their education and empowerment.
To provide safe and accessible transportation facilities to women, free bus travel was started under ‘Saheli Pink Smart Card’. Also, about Rs 129 crore will be transferred through DBT to provide free LPG cylinders to women on the occasion of Holi. Apart from this, ‘Delhi Lakhpati Bitiya Yojana’ was also launched, the objective of which is to make daughters financially self-reliant and strengthen the foundation of their bright future.

How is the new scheme different from the old Ladli scheme?
The new ‘Delhi Lakhpati Bitiya Yojana’ has been made more comprehensive than the old Laadli Yojana. Earlier, a limited amount was deposited at birth and educational stages, which could be withdrawn at the age of 18 years.
Now a total of Rs 56,000 will be deposited in different phases. Including interest, this amount will exceed Rs 1 lakh by the age of 21 years. Its objective is that daughters can complete graduation or professional diploma and higher education becomes a common achievement.
Free LPG Cylinder and Pink Mobility Card
Free LPG cylinder scheme was also launched in the program. Under this, about 15.50 lakh ration card holding families will get relief on Holi and the cylinder amount will be transferred to the accounts of about 15 lakh families.
Also, Pink Mobility Card was launched for free travel in DTC buses. This smart card will provide integrated facility in Metro, RRTS and other public transport services, making women’s travel safe and accessible.
