This time also, in the Chardham Yatra starting from next month, token system will be applicable for the devotees to visit Kedarnath and Badrinath Dham. The tourism and district administration had implemented the token system in both the Dhams last year, but due to the increase in the crowd of devotees, the token did not work.
The Tourism Department had implemented token system for easy darshan of devotees in Kedarnath and Badrinath Dham on the lines of other big temples of the country including Vaishno Devi. Its purpose was that the devotees do not have to stand in long lines for darshan.
Arrangements were made to give token numbers to the devotees on their yatra registration when they reached the Dham. Time for darshan was given in token. Even after getting the tokens initially, the devotees had to wait in queues for darshan.
