CBI court acquitted 57 accused in Haryana Jat reservation violence, read the entire case

Panchkula: The CBI court in Panchkula today gave its verdict on Friday (February 27) in the much talked about case of burning of the house of former Finance Minister Captain Abhimanyu in Rohtak during the Jat reservation movement of 2016.

A total of 57 accused were present before the court in this case. Most of whom are residents of Rohtak and Jhajjar districts and all 57 accused have been acquitted.

Case related to 2016 violence

According to the information, this matter is of the time when violence broke out in many parts of Haryana during the Jat reservation movement. According to the allegation, the mob that came from Delhi Bypass in Rohtak targeted the house of former Finance Minister Captain Abhimanyu.

Anti-social elements had set the house on fire by throwing petrol bombs.

According to the charge sheet, the mob was armed with sticks, swords and petrol bombs. It is alleged that the mob forcibly entered the house. The vehicles parked in the premises were set on fire and household items were looted. It was told that petrol bombs were thrown with the intention of causing harm to the people present inside the house. Due to which the house caught fire and caused a loss worth crores of rupees.

A case was registered against 60 people

According to media reports, the CBI court’s decision in the case of arson that took place during the Jat movement has been confirmed by defense lawyers SP S Parmar and Jitendra Hooda. He told that the CBI had made a total of 60 people accused in the case of burning the house of former cabinet minister Captain Abhimanyu. Of these, Vijendra, Pradeep and Sumit have died, while one accused Dharmendra Hooda has been declared a fugitive. This case presents a serious picture of the violence that took place during the Jat movement.
