
Last night (14 February) in Amethi district of Uttar Pradesh, a middle-aged Dalit man was brutally murdered with a sharp weapon. The incident took place in the entire Ghisai Majre Lihi village under Mohanganj Kotwali area. As soon as information about the incident was received in the morning, there was a stir in the village. On information, police and forensic team reached the spot and took possession of the body and started investigation.
The attackers attacked with sharp weapons
According to the information received, the deceased Shiv Prasad Kori (54), son of Srinath Kori, used to rear pigs on a tube well built in a field about 800 meters away from the village. After having dinner at around 8:30 pm on Saturday (February 14), when he went back to guard the tube well, unknown assailants killed him by hitting him on the head with a sharp weapon. In the morning, when the villagers went to the fields for defecation, they panicked after seeing the blood-soaked bodies, after which the villagers immediately informed the police. The family members of the deceased are in bad condition and crying.
‘No enmity with anyone’
Deceased’s son Jagdish told that he had gone to BHEL for duty in the morning, when the information about his father’s death was received on the phone. On reaching home, it was found that he had been seriously injured by being hit on the head with a sharp weapon. He told that we have no special enmity with anyone and at present he has no suspicion on anyone.
As soon as information about the incident was received, Superintendent of Police Saravanan T. reached the spot. He inspected the incident site closely and after taking information from the family members, gave necessary directions to the concerned officials.
Police have taken three suspects into custody and are continuing their interrogation.
Additional Superintendent of Police Gyanendra Kumar Singh said that the dead body of Shiv Prasad was found under a shed in the field, where there were deep injury marks on the head of the body. After receiving the complaint from the family members, FIR has been registered and the action of Panchayatnama and post mortem is also being done. The interrogation is ongoing with three suspects in custody. Many police teams are engaged in the investigation and the incident will be revealed soon.
