Flames 20 feet high kept rising from the borewell about 240 feet deep, causing panic in the area. The fire brigade team reached the spot and controlled the fire after about four hours. According to experts, signs of flammable methane gas have already been found in the area. Now after this incident, the discussion about presence of gas inside the ground has again intensified.

Sagar News: A surprising incident has come to light in Banda area of ​​Sagar district of Madhya Pradesh. Usually water comes out from the borewell, but here a borewell suddenly started spewing fire. As soon as flames about 20 feet high rose from the borewell, there was panic in the entire area. This incident took place in a field located near Ward No. 11, where local resident Anil Kumar had got a borewell about 240 feet deep on Thursday evening.

Flames rose after the sound of thunder in the morning
According to the information, suddenly at around 6 am on Friday morning a loud sound of thunder was heard. Hearing the sound, people nearby got scared and when they came out, they saw flames coming out of the borewell. Within a short time this news spread throughout the area and people from far and wide started reaching the spot to see this strange sight.

The fire kept burning for 4 hours
The fire coming out of the borewell continued to burn for about four hours. Seeing the possibility of a major accident, the local people immediately informed the police and the municipality. After this, at around 10 am, two fire brigade vehicles reached the spot and after a lot of effort the fire was brought under control.

Cases of gas leakage have come to light earlier also.
This is not the first time such an incident has happened in this area. Even before this, incidents of gas leakage from the ground have come to light in villages like Jagthar, Kanti, Khiriya, Besali, Rakh, Ganyari and Pitholi of Banda area. In view of these incidents, in the year 2019, the nuclear research team from Nagpur also came here to investigate. At that time he had collected samples from about a dozen villages and tested them.

Possibility of methane and helium gas
During the investigation, experts had expressed the possibility of presence of flammable methane gas and possibly helium gas here. After this, geologists from Dr. Harisingh Gaur University and experts from Bina Refinery also took samples from many places in the area. In the investigation, presence of sulfur along with methane gas was found, although its quantity was said to be less.

The discussion about gas started again
Now, after this incident of fire coming out of the borewell, discussions about presence of flammable gas underground in the area have again intensified. Local people are also surprised about this incident and are hoping that scientists will investigate this mystery again.
