Who was in power at that time? I come from Bhumihar Brahmin community. Forced to move out of the hostel. Bihar Budget Session Live: Male MLA brought proposal to implement UGC Equity Guidelines
Male MLA Sandeep Saurabh in Bihar Assembly said that cases of caste-based discrimination and harassment come to the fore in universities including Bihar. He also mentioned the Rohit Vemula case. He said that according to the report given by UGC, there has been a 118 percent increase in cases of caste-based harassment in higher educational institutions from 2019 to 2024. In light of this, equity guidelines were announced for 2026. But, instead of implementing it strongly, it was postponed after the movement sponsored by Brahminist mentality. Bihar government should bring a law to enforce caste based harassment in universities and places of higher education. He said that the opposition demands that it should urge the Central Government to bring an ordinance and make it a law. Also demand to pass a proposal to implement UGC Equity Guidelines.
