In Bharatpur, Rajasthan, the courage of the miscreants has become so high that now they have no fear of the police and the law. History-sheeters openly indulged in hooliganism in a city hotel.
The miscreants put a pistol in the mouth of a young man who was eating and demanded extortion and when the victim ran towards the police station to save his life, the accused opened fire on him near the police station. The police took immediate action and arrested the three main accused.
Threatened by putting pistol in mouth in hotel
The incident took place on the night of 14 February. Sumit Kumar, a resident of Gopalgarh Mohalla, was eating dinner with his friends at ‘Sun Star Hotel’ located at Saras intersection. Then history-sheeter Ajju Thakur along with his associates Jeetu Sahajwani and Kaushal Sharma reached there under the influence of alcohol. The miscreants started abusing Sumit without any reason.
Ajju Thakur threatened Sumit and said, “Don’t you know that Ajju calls me a scoundrel. If you want to live in Bharatpur, you will have to pay extortion money.” To spread terror, Ajju took out his pistol and put it in Sumit’s mouth, while his other companion placed a country-made pistol on his head and said, “Should I shoot him now or will he give me money?”
Firing at the victim who was going to the police station
After the fight, Sumit somehow saved his life and ran towards Mathura Gate police station to lodge a report. But the miscreants chased him and surrounded him at the power station intersection near the police station. The accused opened fire on him with the intention of killing him. It was fortunate that the bullet did not hit Sumit and he narrowly escaped.
Police action: 3 arrested, weapons recovered
As soon as information about open firing was received, CO City IPS Pankaj Yadav took charge. Mathura Gate Police and DST team laid a blockade and caught the three accused – Ajju, Jeetu and Kaushal. During the search, a country-made pistol and 5 live cartridges were recovered from him. IPS Pankaj Yadav said that the accused are being interrogated about the source of weapons and the search for their absconding associates is going on.
