
A major administrative reshuffle has taken place in West Bengal amid the election atmosphere. As soon as the code of conduct came into force, the Election Commission took strict action and removed the state Chief Secretary and Home Secretary from their posts. The Commission says that this decision has been taken to keep the election process fair, transparent and free from influence.

Dushyant Nariyala becomes the new Chief Secretary
Following the instructions of the Commission, senior IAS officer Dushyant Nariyala has been appointed as the new Chief Secretary of West Bengal. He has been instructed to assume the post with immediate effect. It is being told that this change has been made with the aim of keeping the administrative system fair during the elections.
