
The plane crash that took place in Baramati, Pune on January 28 created a stir in the politics of Maharashtra. Five people including former Chief Minister and NCP President Ajit Pawar died in this accident. After the accident, serious questions are being raised on the safety protocols and transparency of the investigation. Meanwhile, Ajit Pawar’s son Jai Pawar expressed his concern regarding this accident on social media platform X. He said that black boxes are not easily destroyed in plane crashes and the public has the right to know the complete, transparent and undisputed truth.
Jai Pawar also demanded an immediate stop to all flights of the aircraft owner company VSR VSR Ventures and an investigation into possible serious negligence. In this matter, NCP has also demanded a CBI inquiry and has urged the state government to conduct an impartial investigation in the matter in coordination with the Centre. Amidst political pressure and security investigation, this matter has now become prominent in the judicial and administrative eyes.
Jai Pawar demanded immediate ban on the airline company
Let us inform that on January 28, Learjet 45XR aircraft operated by VSR Ventures crashed while attempting to land during dense fog at Baramati Airport. Five people including Ajit Power were killed in this accident. Jai Pawar demanded an immediate halt to all flights of VSR Ventures and a thorough investigation into possible serious irregularities in the maintenance of the company’s aircraft. At present the matter is being investigated by the Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau (AAIB) and DGCA.
NCP had demanded CBI investigation
A day before this, NCP had also demanded a CBI inquiry. Deputy Chief Minister Sunetra Pawar, Praful Patel and other leaders met Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and demanded a CBI inquiry. The Chief Minister assured that Union Home Minister Amit Shah will be contacted in this regard. The NCP has alleged serious irregularities in the accident, including last-minute changes in the flight crew, alleged discrepancies in communications with air traffic control and questions over the functioning of safety systems.
Rohit Pawar had demanded removal of Civil Aviation Minister
On the other hand, NCP (SP) MLA Rohit Pawar demanded the removal of Civil Aviation Minister K Rammohan Naidu and DGCA officials. He alleged nexus between the ministry, DGCA and the aircraft owner company. Rohit Pawar said that this case should not be registered as an accident but as culpable homicide and an FIR should be registered against the owners and technical staff of VSR Ventures.
