Five minor girls had consumed poison together in Saidpur village of Haspura police station area of Aurangabad. Of these, four had died. The police has made revelations in this entire matter. After talking to a minor who survived and getting information from her, SDPO Ashok Kumar Das revealed the reason on last Monday (09 February 2026).
The girls were hurt by scolding from their family members
The SDPO said that their parents had scolded them for associating with boys. Hurt by this, these five friends had decided to commit suicide by consuming poison together. He told that on the evening of Saraswati Puja, all of them were seen roaming with some boys. The family members were informed about this. After this a reprimand was issued.
The last rites were performed without post-mortem.
Hurt by the words of their family members, these girls had gone to the village pine and consumed poison. Of these, four died on the spot while one girl survived. This incident happened on 29th January. The age of the girls who died was between 10 and 14 years. The body was cremated without post-mortem.
The police came to know about this even two days after the incident. After this, on one hand the police woke up and on the other hand the IG of Magadh Zone also reached the spot. However, the reason for the case could not be known at that time. As soon as the police came to know about the girl being treated during the investigation, the police team arrived under the leadership of a senior officer.
Information about the reason was taken from the girl. SDPO Ashok Kumar Das said that after the police has recorded the statement of the surviving girl, her statement will now be recorded in the court. The police has started its process.
