
There is an atmosphere of mourning throughout the state due to the death of popular Bollywood and Assamese singer Zubeen Garg. Today, on Tuesday, the last rites will be performed with full state honors. Earlier, he will be post -mortem for the second time at Guwahati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH). The first post -mortem took place in Singapore, where he died after drowning in the sea on Friday, 19 September.
Meanwhile, there was a huge resentment among the students for not paying tribute to Zubeen Garg at Tezpur University in Assam. The students demonstrated against the university administration. Also demanded public apology from Vice Chancellor Shambhunath Singh. An official in the case said that the students were angry that the university reacted very late after the death of Zubeen Garg.
Please tell that Zubeen Garg died while floating in the sea in Singapore. After this, tributes were paid to him across Assam. In this sequence, students of Tezpur University organized a tribute meeting on Friday by lighting a candle. A tribute message and press release was released on Sunday by the university administration. The students had demanded that a week -long tribute program ran in honor of Zubeen Garg and apologize to the people of the state for the delay of the university. At the same time, the students demanded a meeting with the Vice Chancellor, who were in Delhi at that time.
Vice Chancellor disagreeed on the demand of students
In such a situation, when the Vice Chancellor returned on Monday evening and spoke to the students, he remained dissatisfied with his reply. After this, the atmosphere was heated and the Vice Chancellor had to leave from there. The police had to come in the middle to calm the situation. The students said that there was already resentment against the Vice Chancellor and the incident of not giving proper respect to Zubeen Garg worked to pour ghee in the fire.
