The political atmosphere is tight regarding the elections to be held on five Rajya Sabha seats of Bihar. If we look at the numerical strength in the Assembly, NDA’s victory is certain on four out of five seats. Out of these five seats, two are in the hands of Nitish Kumar’s party JDU and two in the hands of BJP. Meanwhile, discussions started that Union Minister Chirag Paswan will stake claim on one seat and his mother Reena Paswan will go to Rajya Sabha. However, now Chirag Paswan himself has put an end to such reports.
While talking to the media on Friday (February 20, 2026), Chirag Paswan said, “Lord, let me make it clear that my mother is not coming into politics. You people should not make this a part of the debate at all. She (Reena Paswan) keeps herself away from active politics. She wants to keep herself away.”
No claim for mother out of five seats
Union Minister Chirag Paswan further said, “Being a mother, it is certain that she is seen with me on the public stage or being my better half, she must be seen with my father, but she does not want to enter active politics at all. My mother has no claim on the five Rajya Sabha seats. I definitely believe that our NDA alliance will win five of the five seats. There is no doubt about it.” Will Upendra Kushwaha get a seat? Chirag Paswan looked calm on this question.
Chirag Paswan attacked the opposition
Earlier, while talking to the media in Hajipur, Chirag Paswan fiercely attacked the opposition. Budget On the opposition’s protest outside the Bihar Assembly during the session, Union Minister Chirag Paswan said, “If any incident happens, it is a matter of concern. The opposition may do politics on it, but it is a serious matter for our government. Even if one incident happens, it is a matter of concern for us… The Home Minister of Bihar has also ordered the local administration to be more alert… Such incidents should not happen for which our government is trying to take all possible steps… The family should get justice for that too.” We are equally committed.”
