Ambala’s science industry also affected by war, business stalled due to non availability of LPG cylinder

The impact of the ongoing war in the Middle East countries is now visible on the science industry of Ambala. Ambala’s science industry is now almost on the verge of closure because the government has stopped the commercial gas cylinder supply. Businessmen in the science industry have stopped working due to non-availability of gas cylinders. The work of those companies which had stock of gas cylinders is going on. If traders are to be believed, the production of all the companies doing science business will be stopped this week.

Ambala’s industry has already been hit by floods twice and is now on the verge of huge losses due to non-availability of LPG gas. At present, science businessmen are likely to suffer losses worth crores due to non-availability of LPG. If traders are to be believed, there will be a loss of around Rs 200 crore in a month.

War affects everyone – Dr. Ashawant

Ambala President of President Chamber of Commerce, Dr. Ashawant said that if war happens anywhere, it affects everyone. He said, “This war is having an impact in two ways. Due to non-availability of gas, the work of the industries came to a halt, the production of the industries which used to run on gas stopped completely and the second effect is regarding the raw materials which are petrochemicals raw material, whether it is plastic granules or chemicals, their rates have increased by one and a half to double overnight.

‘The rate is likely to increase further in the future’

He said, “There is a possibility of the rate increasing further in the coming time and as far as closure of LPG commercial cylinders is concerned, the science business of about Rs 100 crore from Ambala is of export and mostly glassware work is done for the making of which gas is required and now LPG gas is not available in the market at all.” Many industries have closed due to lack of gas and some have stock for one or two days, that too will be closed. As soon as production stops, it will directly impact the industries that are using this product.

‘If LPG is not available then Ambala Science business will be completely closed’

Dr. Ashawant further said, “If LPG gas is not available then the Ambala science business will be completely closed, which will impact everywhere and science goods worth more than Rs. 100 crores are exported from Ambala.” Along with this, science material is supplied from Ambala to the entire country, which will have a direct impact on every industry. There is a big industry of Science, Glassware and Microsoft in Ambala which is dependent on LPG gas.

‘Commercial gas cylinder not available since last 5 days’

He said, “No commercial gas cylinder is available since last 5 days and someone has stock of gas cylinder for one day or two days and this is the last week, if gas cylinder is not available then the work of science production will be completely stopped.” Ambala’s industry has already been hit by floods twice and now it is facing problems due to non-availability of LPG gas cylinders. It is the month of March and every businessman wants to complete his order accounting in this month.

Dr. Ashawant also said that such problems in March are a big alarm bell for businessmen. Right now no one has any idea as to when and how commercial LPG cylinders will be available. He said, “The businessman is facing a double blow. Firstly, the work has stopped due to non-availability of cylinders. Secondly, expenses have to be paid every month. Besides, employees have to pay salaries and pay electricity bills. Traders say that the annual turnover of Ambala’s science industry is around Rs 5000 crore and if there is more work in March, then it is natural that the traders will suffer more losses.
