
In the government civil hospital in Ahmedabad, doctors gave a new life to a 7 -year -old boy by extracting a bunch of hair and a shoe lace from the stomach. This child is a resident of Ratlam in Madhya Pradesh.
Superintendent of the hospital Rakesh Joshi said that Shubham was troubled by the problem of stomach pain, vomiting and weight loss for the last two months. Earlier his parents had shown him in a private hospital in Madhya Pradesh, but he did not get any relief there.
Doctors underwent surgery after investigation
After being admitted to Shubham in a civil hospital, the doctors got his CT scan and endoscopy. Investigation revealed that a bunch of hair and a shoe lace are stuck in his stomach.
Dr. Joshi, head of the Department of Pediatrics of Civil Hospital, said that the team of doctors removed the knot through complex laparotomy surgery. On the 7th day of surgery, it was confirmed by a dye test that no remains left in the stomach.
Psychologist also helped
The hospital also introduced Shubham to a psychiatrist so that he would give up the habit of swallowing such things in future. Doctors said that in this disease, children often swallow hair or other small items, which is necessary to stop.
What is Trichobazor Disease
Dr. Joshi said that Shubham had a rare disease called ‘Trichobazoer’. In this, children swallow hair. These hair get entangled in the stomach and make lumps. Symptoms of this disease include abdominal pain or swelling, vomiting, loss of appetite, weight phenomenon and constipation.
Hospital officials said that now Shubham’s condition is completely fine and he has been discharged. Doctors say that both the health and life of the child can be safe with the right treatment and mental consultation on time.
