Afghanistan Launches Major Attack On Pakistan Seizes Posts Claims Several Soldiers Killed Durand Line

The war between Afghanistan and Pakistan has been going on for the last five days on the Durand Line. Meanwhile, the Afghan Army has given a strong response to the air strikes of the Pakistani Air Force and launched retaliatory attacks on Pakistani military bases. The Afghan Defense Ministry has informed that their army has targeted several important Pakistani military bases along the 2,600 km long border. These attacks include areas adjacent to Kabul, Ali-Sher district of Khost, Jalalabad and border areas of Kandahar.

What claim to control military posts?

The tension between the two countries increased further when Pakistan attacked alleged terrorist camps inside Afghanistan on 21-22 February. In response to this, the Afghan army has adopted an aggressive stance. According to Afghan officials, their forces have taken control of several Pakistani military posts in Spin Boldak and Shorabak districts of Kandahar province. Three Pakistani soldiers were killed and one soldier was captured by Afghan forces during the capture of three posts in Spin Boldak. Additionally, Afghanistan’s Tolo News reported that two Pakistani posts in Ali-Sher district are also now under the control of Afghan forces.

The danger is still not over

For the last four days, armies from both sides have been shelling each other’s positions heavily. Although officials say that the intensity of fighting has reduced slightly compared to the initial phase of the conflict, but the danger has not gone away. The enmity started last month when Pakistan claimed to target terrorists inside the Afghan border. Soon after, Taliban-led Afghan forces began retaliating.

On Monday, the Afghan Defense Ministry made another big announcement. He said that Afghan soldiers have destroyed a Pakistani armored tank in Paktika province. This tank was indiscriminately firing shells towards the Afghan area. Ministry spokesperson Inayatullah Khowarazmi claimed that Afghan soldiers have so far killed more than 100 Pakistani people and hoisted their flag on more than 25 military posts.

Afghan police also informed that Pakistani fighter planes had tried to bomb the Bagram Air Base located near Kabul. The Afghan air defense system displayed promptness and foiled this attack. There is no news of any casualty in this incident. Bagram Air Base was earlier the largest center of the US Army.
