
Once again an example of Ganga-Jamuni culture was seen in the birthplace of Amir Khusro and Saint Tulsidas in Kasganj, UP. On Saturday, when a girl from the Muslim community passed through the town wearing a burqa and carrying a kanwar on her shoulder, the people of the Hindu community not only welcomed her but also encouraged her with the cheers of Bam-Bhole.

Unwavering faith in Lord Shiva
When Soni, a Muslim girl who was fetching water from Kadarganj Ganga Ghat, was seen carrying Kanwar in a burqa, out of curiosity people of the Hindu community talked to her. Then Soni very casually told that she belongs to Muslim community and has unwavering faith in Lord Shiva. She is going to fill Ganga water from Kadarganj Ghat to offer it to the ancient Shiva temple located in Parson village of Etah district. Seeing his unwavering faith, the people present there became emotional.

People wore flower garlands
Respecting the devotion of the Muslim girl, the people of Hindu community stopped her and garlanded her. Shri Ramlila Committee General Secretary Pankaj Solanki, social worker Sanjay Gupta and BJP Mandal President Rishi Aggarwal and other dignitaries welcomed Bam-Bhole by wearing a patka. People say that while the great poet Amir Khusro wrote hundreds of songs on Hindu gods and goddesses, today Soni has brought that tradition alive.
