These days, social media is buzzing with such an inspiring and shocking story, which has attracted the attention of millions of people. Tamer Zeki, a 29-year-old young man from UK, sent about a thousand job applications, but faced rejection every time. But after this he took a flight of just two hours and his job was fixed.

Tamer, a maths graduate, was looking for a job as a data analyst in London, but the UK job market turned out to be so tough that more than a year passed without a single offer. Some companies sent rejection emails even after a year. But Tamer did not give up and took a unique step. He secured his job by taking just a two-hour flight.

Relocated for job
Actually, when Tamer received more than a thousand rejections in the UK, he decided to shift to his girlfriend’s small Austrian village. This village is in Lower Austria, where only 400 people live. As soon as he reached here, Tamer got a job – that too easily. His girlfriend Anna Hasselbock, who was already in Austria, told that there is a severe shortage of qualified staff there. Anna herself got the job within two-three weeks. Companies are looking for good and qualified people whereas in UK even highly qualified candidates are ignored. Tamer has been there for nine months now and says, “This decision proved to be the best step of my life. Now I am in a job, earning well and the quality of life is much better.”

It is difficult to get a job in UK
This story exposes the harsh reality of the UK job market. The problem of unemployment is increasing among Gen Z and Millennials. Many youth send applications, but companies do not respond or ghost them. Like Tamer, many people are now looking at outside countries, where the demand for skilled workers is high. In countries like Austria, the economy is strong and due to shortage of workforce, foreign talent easily gets opportunities. Tamer’s story is becoming a motivation for many youth. They say that do not be limited to just one country or one field. If it is not working in the local market, then look outside. His girlfriend also said, “Companies in Austria are desperate for good staff. In the UK, it is difficult to get a job even if you have the qualifications.”
