
On Sunday morning, encroachers carried out a deadly attack on the forest department team in Gudi forest range of Khandwa district. Here the special squad of about 45 forest guards patrolling in room number 748 – 749 of Aama Khujri Beat was attacked by people who had already ambushed them with slings, stones and sticks. More than eight forest guards were injured in this attack.
According to eyewitnesses, as soon as the special flying squad of the forest department reached the forest, the encroachers who were already hiding started pelting stones from slings. After this they were also attacked with sticks. The sudden attack caused chaos. In this attack by encroachers, many employees including forest guard Jwala Singh, Romank Nayak, Shailendra Yadav, Rajendra Singh Saktawat, Rajendra Bagri, Pradeep Baghel, Chandrapal Tomar and Rahul Lodhi have suffered serious injuries.

The injured kept suffering for two hours
The injured forest guards allege that even after giving information, Gudi Ranger Narendra Patel did not reach the spot and went to Khandwa. During this time, the injured forest personnel remained lying in the forest without treatment for about two hours. Not only this, the other forest team had also returned from the spot. Along with this, the employees alleged that when the Dial-112 vehicle reached there, it also left the forest guards and took the encroachers, who were injured by their own slings, to the hospital.
Why did tension increase?
Let us tell you that recently the Forest Department and Administration had removed encroachment on a large scale from Gudi Range. There was tension in the area since then. At the same time, 45 new forest guards recruited in 2025 were deployed after training to stop encroachment in this range. There is anger among the forest employees after the incident. He says that it is difficult to do duty in the forest without security. The employees have demanded strict action against the culprits and police force during the campaign.
