campaign to install meters

About a month ago, the department had instructed e-auto and rickshaw drivers to install meters. Most of the drivers have installed meters. Now the rate list will be distributed to all the drivers, so that even if the meter is not installed, the passengers can pay the fare as per the rate list.

This will be the rate list

According to the rates released by the department: Petrol Auto: Rs 26 for the first kilometer, Rs 20 per kilometer thereafter, Rs 25 per kilometer for the auto, Rs 20 per kilometer thereafter and Rs 15 per kilometer for e-rickshaw. The department has instructed all drivers to clearly paste the fare chart inside the vehicle. If the chart is damaged or unclear, the driver will have to get a new chart installed immediately.

If fare is charged more, action will be taken

For the convenience of passengers coming from across the country, large coding boards are being installed at the railway station, bus stand, airport and other important places of Jammu, on which fare rates will be displayed continuously. RTO Jasmeet Singh has clearly warned that if any driver is found charging fare more than the prescribed rate, strict action will be taken against him.

appeal to passengers

The Transport Department has appealed to the passengers to check the rate list while paying the fare and lodge a complaint immediately if they are charged more fare. The aim of the department is that this time the pilgrims should not face any kind of problem during the Amarnath Yatra.
