District Fire Officer Pradeep Kumar said, “On the instructions of Police Commissioner Laxmi Singh, a continuous campaign is being run in the district. Wherever fire safety rules are being found ignored in coaching centres, strict action is being taken there. The safety of children is paramount. This campaign will continue in the future also.”

Administration alert after Lucknow accident

The administration has also started a large-scale campaign in Gautam Buddha Nagar district. The team of police, fire department and district administration is jointly checking the fire exits, fire alarms, sprinklers, fire extinguishers and other necessary safety equipment in the coaching centres.

Warning to coaching operators

The administration has given a clear warning to all the coaching center operators to ensure that fire safety norms are followed, otherwise strict legal action will be taken against them. Many coaching center owners have assured that the deficiencies will be rectified immediately during the inspection.

Correspondent Ravindra Jayant, who was present on the spot, talked to the fire officer and coaching center operator Ashish Gupta. Director Ashish Gupta said that they will soon remove all the shortcomings and will follow complete safety standards from now on. The district administration says that in the next few days, all the major coaching hubs of the district — Sectors 2, 3, 4, 16, 27, 63, 137, 144, 150 and Greater Noida Large scale inspections will also be conducted in the West.
