Rajasthan Congress President Govind Singh Dotasra, in a press conference on Wednesday (June 24), made a scathing attack on the Bhajanlal Sharma government on many issues. He cornered the government regarding health services of the state, action being taken at religious places in border districts and matters related to Agriculture Minister Kirori Lal Meena. Dotasara said that the present government is proving to be a failure on every front and is not serious about the problems of the people.
Dotasara said that during the Congress government, the state had reached the right to health, but the present government has failed to handle health services. He alleged that there is a shortage of essential medicines in government hospitals and questions are being raised about the quality of the medicines available.
He said that incidents like maternal deaths, negligence in treatment, cases of kidney failure and deaths due to cough syrup are continuously coming to light. Despite this, in every case only the investigation report is made to wait and no concrete action is taken against any culprit.
Targeted at Chief Minister and Medical Minister
The Congress State President accused the Chief Minister and the Medical Minister of insensitivity. He said that the government is not concerned about the problems of the common people.
Dotasara also expressed displeasure over the statements made regarding pregnant women and caesarean delivery and said that the government should work more responsibly on such issues.
During the press conference, Dotasara also raised the issue of action being taken against temples, mosques and other religious places in the border areas. He alleged that the administration is giving very short ultimatum to remove religious places, due to which resentment is increasing in both the communities.
He demanded from the government that the purpose behind the action should be made clear and an all-party meeting should be called on this subject. However, he also said that if the matter is related to national security then Congress and the entire opposition will stand with the government.
Counterattack on Kirori Lal Meena’s allegations
Responding to the allegations of Agriculture Minister Kirori Lal Meena, Dotasara said that accountability was not fixed even after crores of rupees of cash was found with people close to the minister. He said that if the minister himself had demanded an impartial investigation, his credibility would have been stronger.
Dotasara also demanded an impartial investigation into the matters related to the minister and the ACB actions taken so far. During this, Congress’s “Students’ Echo” program and Rahul Gandhi’s student dialogue in Kota were also discussed.
