A 17-year-old girl died allegedly by suicide in Mangaluru, Karnataka. In this case, the police have registered a case against a person under the charges of POCSO Act, rape and abetment of suicide. Giving information on Wednesday, officials said that the girl was found hanging in her house on the evening of June 23.

How did the rape case come to light?

Police said that the girl’s parents have alleged in their complaint that their daughter was pregnant. According to police sources, the girl has allegedly left a note addressed to her parents. Case registered against accused Anish Pujari

Based on the complaint of the girl’s parents, Suratkal police have registered an FIR against a person named Anish Pujari under sections of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses (POCSO) Act, rape and abetment of suicide.

Police is investigating the case, accused absconding

According to the police, the parents in their complaint have held the accused responsible for their daughter’s death. Police said that the post-mortem process has been completed. The embryo has been preserved for DNA testing as part of the investigation. A special police team has been formed to search and arrest the accused. According to the police, the accused is currently absconding. Further investigation into the matter is ongoing.
