Anil Kumar Tanwar (56), a security officer of a company, shot dead his wife and son in a domestic dispute at around 11 pm on Saturday night in J Block of Ashok Vihar Phase-3, Gurugram. The deceased have been identified as Asha Tanwar (52) and son Prashant Tanwar (27). Police arrested the murder accused and recovered a licensed revolver and 14 shells from the spot.

Mother and son used to run the school
Anil Kumar Tanwar, who works as a security officer in a company located in Sector-44, is originally a resident of Tigraana village of Bhiwani. He has been living in J Block of Ashok Vihar Phase-3, Gurugram for 15 years. The family of Anil’s father and brother lives in Brahma Colony of Bhiwani. Anil’s wife Asha Tanwar was running a private school in Carterpuri area of the city. Son Prashant used to handle the management and operation of the school along with his mother. The police conducted post-mortem on Sunday and handed over the body to the family members. On the complaint of family members, the police have registered an FIR under relevant sections at Sector-5 police station and are investigating.

Daughter said-father shot her
Anil Kumar Tanwar’s daughter told the police that there was a fight between her father and mother Asha Tanwar at night. When his brother Prashant went to convince both of them, the father shot both of them with a licensed revolver.

The accused was produced in the court on Sunday and taken on remand for two days. During remand, the accused will be thoroughly interrogated in the case of murder of his wife and son and the reason for the quarrel will be ascertained. -Kapil Ahlawat, ACP (West), Gurugram
