14 ministers will take oath along with DK Shivkumar
Preparations for the formation of the new Congress government in Karnataka have been completed. DK Shivakumar, who was elected to the post of Chief Minister, will take oath as the Chief Minister at Lok Bhawan in Bengaluru on Wednesday evening. Along with him, 14 ministers will also be included in the cabinet. According to party sources, the list of ministers has been approved by the Congress high command. Congress leader MB Patil confirmed his selection for the ministerial post, saying he was informed about it by DK Shivakumar and he wished the new Chief Minister all the best.
Meanwhile, senior Congress leader G Parameshwara met Shivkumar, after which speculations about his making him Deputy Chief Minister have intensified. Apart from this, Satish Jarkiholi, Ramalinga Reddy, MB Patil, Priyank Kharge and Yatindra Siddaramaiah are also likely to take oath as ministers. Many top Congress leaders will attend the swearing-in ceremony. Prominent among them are Rahul Gandhi, Mallikarjun Kharge, KC Venugopal and Randeep Surjewala. Many Chief Ministers of Congress ruled states may also be present at the function.

Suspense continues on the number of ministers
Regarding DK Shivakumar’s oath as Chief Minister, Congress MLA Sharan Prakash Patil said, ‘This is a historic day because DK Shivakumar is taking oath as Chief Minister. The new government will definitely do good work. Regarding cabinet formation, he said that the cabinet is being reorganized, hence it is natural to have many contenders for ministerial posts. There is nothing wrong in this. Sharan Prakash Patil further said, ‘Possibly along with the Chief Minister, 14 other leaders can also take oath as ministers tomorrow.’
Earlier, a Congress MLA had talked about taking oath of 9 ministers. In such a situation, suspense remains on the number of ministers.

The beginning of a new era and the target of 2028
Congress MLA Sharat Kumar Bachegowda has described this swearing-in ceremony as the beginning of a new chapter for Karnataka. He said the party high command will soon announce the names of the ministers who will take oath along with Shivakumar. He expressed hope that the programs of good governance and social justice implemented in the last three years and the preceding five years of Siddaramaiah’s tenure will be continued. The main focus of Congress is now on the upcoming assembly elections of 2028 and Lok Sabha elections of 2029. The party wants to create a strong environment for the elections through this change.
