US President Donald Trump said on Monday that negotiations with Iran are continuing at a fast pace. Posting on his social media platform Truth Social, Trump said, ‘Negotiations with the Islamic Republic of Iran continue at a fast pace’. This statement of Trump has come at a time when there have been reports of new attacks from Tehran, which has increased the pressure on the fragile ceasefire implemented between America and Iran.

Peace efforts remain at risk from new attacks
The ceasefire declared between America and Iran has been challenged many times in the past due to such attacks and retaliatory actions. Tension remains between the two countries, while officials from both sides are engaged in talks to end the war. However, it is not yet clear how close the situation is to an agreement between the two countries. At the same time, there is a fear that due to any new attack, the ongoing talks may be affected and the negotiation process may be derailed.
Trump announced ceasefire between Israel and Hezbollah
Trump also said that he had talked to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. He said that the talks were very positive and that no American troops would be sent to Beirut. According to Trump, the soldiers who were preparing to go there have also been returned. Trump claimed that he also had good talks with representatives of Hezbollah. According to him, Hezbollah has agreed to stop firing. Trump said that Israel will not attack Hezbollah and Hezbollah will also not attack Israel.

Trump is a better negotiator than a fighter
Earlier, while talking to a news channel, Trump said that he was not informed in advance about the decision to suspend the talks. However, he said that even if the talks end, he feels it is okay. Trump said he is a better negotiator than a fighter. He also said that this does not mean that America will go there and start bombing on a large scale.
Israeli military operation continues in Lebanon despite ceasefire
Meanwhile, attacks between US forces and Iran continued over the weekend and into Monday, threatening a nearly two-month-old ceasefire. On the other hand, despite the ceasefire, Israel is continuing its military operations in Lebanon. Over the weekend Israeli forces launched their deepest incursion into Lebanon in 26 years. On Monday, Netanyahu ordered attacks on Beirut’s southern suburbs, considered areas under Hezbollah’s control. This indicated further increase in tension in the area.
