Political rhetoric has already intensified regarding the assembly elections of Uttar Pradesh to be held in 2027. All India Muslim Jamaat (AIMJ) President Maulana Shahabuddin Razvi Barelvi fiercely attacked Samajwadi Party and its chief Akhilesh Yadav. He said that SP is no longer the party which once thought about Muslims. Don’t trust him anymore.
He appealed to the Muslims to find some other strong alternative instead of SP and support it strongly. This statement has intensified the stir in UP politics, but till now no official reaction of SP has been seen on this.

What did Maulana Shahabuddin say?
Maulana Shahabuddin Razvi Barelvi said, “The 2027 assembly elections to be held in Uttar Pradesh are of great importance. In such a situation when the political situation has changed in the entire country, especially for the Muslim MPs, the tables have turned completely. Therefore, I have appealed to my community, which has continuously given its vote and support to the Samajwadi Party since 1990 till date. Ever since Akhilesh Yadav has taken charge of the Samajwadi Party, the party has The face, facade and outlook have all changed.”
Maulana Shahabuddin made a special appeal
Maulana Shahabuddin Razvi further said, “Mulayam Singh was a sympathizer of the Muslim community, but Akhilesh Yadav is not sympathetic. For how long will the Muslim community continue to roam around carrying the funeral procession of SP, hence I have urged my community to think deeply on this matter and after thinking properly, look for some other option other than the Samajwadi Party. Analyze which option can be stronger and then vote strongly in the coming elections.”
Maulana Shahabuddin said- don’t trust SP now
Maulana Shahabuddin Razvi said that Muslims no longer need to trust SP because Akhilesh has been avoiding the issues of Muslims. Akhilesh Yadav did not speak on Gyanvapi Masjid Kashi, has maintained complete silence on issues like Shahi Masjid of Mathura and many other matters, hence, I would tell Muslims that there is no need to trust him. Find another option.
This statement is now being linked to the politics of polarization because if this appeal has an impact on Muslim votes, then its direct impact can be seen in the 2027 assembly elections. This can give a blow to the Backward, Dalit, Minority (PDA) formula of the party, on the basis of which SP had shown its dominance in the Lok Sabha elections 2024. Although, this kind of rhetoric is nothing new in politics, but it will be interesting to see how SP reacts to it.
