Middle East Conflicts: Iran’s Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi on Friday (May 15, 2026) has given a big statement regarding India’s role amid the ongoing conflict and tension in West Asia with America and Israel. He said that India can play an important role in establishing peace in the region. We appreciate any positive and constructive role of India.
Pointing towards the peace talks hosted by Pakistan, he said that we did not get any benefit from the peace talks held in Islamabad. We could not reach any agreement because America was continuously adopting a pressure stance and was repeatedly changing its goals. He also said that anything could happen only if Iran’s concerns were addressed.
What did the Iranian Foreign Minister say about India??
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, who came to attend the BRICS Foreign Ministers’ meeting held in New Delhi, said in a press conference on Friday (May 15, 2026) that we appreciate the Indian government and all those countries who condemned the attack on us and showed solidarity.
He said that India has relations with many countries of the world, but the most important for Iran is the relation between India and Iran. We attach great importance to our relations with India. Relations between the two countries are based on mutual respect and common interests. He further said that if India wants to purchase fuel from Iran, then Iran is ready to provide energy resources to India.
Iran does not trust America at all – Araghchi
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, targeting America and Israel, said, ‘Iran has been the victim of an unprovoked act of aggression and this attack happened at a time when negotiations and diplomatic efforts were going on. He said that Iran has always believed in diplomacy. We want to give diplomacy a chance. There is no military solution to this.
He said that we have always responded to diplomacy with diplomacy, but the truth is that we do not trust America at all. We cannot trust America. He said, ‘We have every reason not to trust America, while America has every reason to trust us.’
He further said, ‘Last time also the attack was carried out after five rounds of talks, after which the war continued for 12 days. The same was repeated this time also. This is why it is very difficult for us to trust America.
Insecurity situation in the Strait of Hormuz US Because of- Araghchi
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said regarding the Strait of Hormuz that Iran never wanted nuclear weapons. We have said many times that we do not want nuclear weapons and it is not a part of our policy. Our nuclear program is only for peaceful purposes.
He said that as far as Iran is concerned, the Strait of Hormuz is open, provided the ships passing through it do not belong to countries that are involved in the fight against Iran. He claimed that Iran helped Indian ships pass through the strait safely, but the situation of insecurity in the region has arisen because of America.
