Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) has taken a very important step to promote religious tourism and give a new path to the faith of the devotees. With an aim to further strengthen the age-old spiritual ties between India and Nepal, IRCTC has presented a special gift to the devotees of Madhya Pradesh. This initiative is a golden opportunity for those who want to visit the major temples and natural beauty of the neighboring country Nepal. Through this religious journey, the devotees will not only get the darshan of Pashupatinath, the holy abode of Lord Shiva, but will also get the opportunity to know the culture and heritage of Nepal closely.

IRCTC on Thursday officially announced ‘Pashupatinath Nepal Darshan Yatra’, which will be operated under the Bharat Gaurav scheme. The journey will commence from Indore on 12th June through a luxurious ‘Deluxe AC’ tourist train. The biggest and special thing about this news is that this is the first time in the history of IRCTC that a ‘Bharat Gaurav’ tourist train is being run for passengers outside the borders of India i.e. internationally. According to officials, this entire journey will be of nine nights and ten days, in which special care has been taken for the safety and convenience of the passengers.

Which famous places will be visited?

IRCTC has selected the most prominent tourist and spiritual destinations of Nepal for this 10-day journey. During this journey, devotees will be able to visit the world famous Pashupatinath temple located in Kathmandu. Apart from this, passengers will be taken to Nepal’s beautiful city of Pokhara and Chitwan National Park rich in natural wealth. A visit to Manakamana Temple is also included to deepen the spiritual experience. Not only this, IRCTC has also taken care of the entertainment and adventure of the passengers by arranging for a ropeway ride to reach Manakamana Temple and an exciting jeep safari in Chitwan.

What facilities will there be for passengers in the train?

This special train starting from Indore will have a total of 14 coaches, which are divided into three different categories – First AC, Second AC and Third AC. To ensure best food and drink facilities during the journey, two special restaurant coaches have been installed in the train. So that devotees from different parts of Madhya Pradesh can avail the benefit of this train, apart from Indore, boarding facility has been provided at major stations like Ujjain, Shujalpur, Sehore, Rani Kamlapati (Bhopal), Itarsi, Narsinghpur, Jabalpur, Katni and Satna. Apart from this, the passengers will be accommodated in three-star hotels for five nights stay in Nepal and AC buses have been arranged for local excursions.

What was the fare fixed for the journey?

IRCTC has fixed fares for different categories as per the choice of passengers. The per person fare for third AC ‘Comfort’ class has been fixed at Rs 62,710, while for second AC ‘Deluxe’, passengers will have to pay Rs 76,550. At the same time, the fare for the most luxurious First AC ‘Superior’ class has been kept at Rs 90,400. This package includes all the essential services like train tickets, vegetarian meals (train and hotel), hotel accommodation, bus tours, travel insurance, security and housekeeping.
