The weather suddenly took a turn in UP and then created a havoc. Somewhere the wall fell, somewhere the roof and somewhere the trees fell. Four people have died in Unnao district, four in Fatehpur and two in Kanpur Dehat.
Storm wreaks havoc, four killed
The 20-minute storm wreaked havoc in Unnao district. During this period, four people died in different areas. Ansh (9), son of Jagdish, resident of Babakheda of Asiwan police station area, was also playing there with other children. At around 2 o’clock in the afternoon, a sudden strong storm caused a nearby eucalyptus tree to fall and hit other children as well. Ansh died due to suffocation in the incident. Also, Rajepal (42), resident of Barhakhurd village and Amit (30), son of Laxman, resident of Maqbulkheda, got buried in the same. A crowd of villagers gathered after the incident. Police reached the spot with the help of Hydra, got the trees lifted and everyone was evacuated and sent to Miyaganj CHC.
Ram Asare (70), a resident of Singhupur village of Dahi police station area, has fields outside his village. A mango tree was planted in the field. On Wednesday, he was in the fields when due to a strong storm, a mango tree fell on him and he got buried under it. After coming to know about the incident, son Ravi Shankar took his father to the district hospital, the doctor declared him dead. Siyaram son of Kanhai in Pongha village of the same area and Vinod Kumar son of Ramnaresh in Maita died on the spot when a wall fell on them.
