Noida International Airport: When the issue of expensive tickets arose, Indigo-akasa reduced fares from Noida, some relief – Noida Airport: When the issue of expensive tickets arose, Indigo-akasa reduced fares from Noida

Amidst the discussion that flight fares from Noida International Airport are costlier compared to Delhi’s IGI Airport, IndiGo and Akasa Air reduced the ticket prices. The ticket fares of many cities which were visible on Monday were found to be decreasing online on Tuesday.

For example, Indigo had earlier kept the fare from Noida to Lucknow at Rs 4,981, which is now seen at Rs 3,394. Similar fare is visible from IGI Airport also. Akasa Air’s ticket booking for Bangalore, which was happening at Rs 8532 on Monday, came down to Rs 6500 on Tuesday. With the opening of Noida Airport, people of Delhi-NCR were hopeful that they would get better facilities at cheaper fares.

However, when first IndiGo and later Akasa released their schedules, fares to cities like Bengaluru, Lucknow, Mumbai, Jammu etc. at Noida International Airport (DXN) were costlier than IGI Airport Delhi. People’s expectations were dashed by this move of the companies. This became a topic of discussion in the media and social media platforms.

Domestic passengers will have to pay Rs 490 user development fee

The Airport Charges Regulatory Authority (AERA) has fixed the user development fee (UDF) at Rs 490 for domestic passengers and Rs 980 for international passengers departing from Noida International Airport.

This UDF has been scheduled for the period 2026-27. AERA said in a release that this fee will be Rs 210 for arriving domestic passengers and Rs 420 for international passengers. Commercial operations will start from here from June 15.

The UDF for departing domestic passengers has been fixed at Rs 490 per passenger, while the airport operator had proposed Rs 653, AERA said. At the same time, the UDF for each departing international passenger is Rs 980, which is less than Rs 1200 demanded by the operator. These rates are similar to the rates prescribed in the temporary tariff order issued in August, 2025.
