A sensational case has come to light from Bhilwara district of Rajasthan, which has shaken the foundation of relationships. Lust for money, insurance claims and property disputes blinded a man so much that he murdered his own elder brother in a gruesome manner. Not only this, in order to mislead the police, he also hatched a complete conspiracy to prove this murder as a ‘road accident’.
Dead body was found on the side of the highway, younger brother had filed a report
The matter is of Govindpura ward number 8 of Asind subdivision. On the morning of 3 May 2026, a dead body of a person was found on the side of National Highway 158 (NH-158). When the police kept the body in the hospital mortuary and identified it, it was identified as Kishan alias Mevaram Khatik. After this, Mevaram’s younger brother Laxmi Lal Khatik lodged a report of the accident with the police. Initially this case seemed to be a normal road accident.
‘Accident’ theory entangled in police investigation
When the investigation into the case started, a special team was formed on the instructions of Bhilwara Superintendent of Police (SP) Dharmendra Singh. When the team closely inspected the incident site and the dead body, many questions arose. The police observed that there were no other scratches or injuries on the body of the deceased, his bike was absolutely safe, and only the head had been seriously hit with a heavy object.
Complainant came under suspicion, secret revealed again
It is from here that Asind police station in-charge Shraddha Panchori and her team suspected that this was not just an accident but a pre-planned murder. When the police analyzed the call details and technical evidence, the needle of suspicion turned directly towards Laxmi Lal, the younger brother of the deceased (complainant).
The dead body was chopped with an ax and stuffed in a sack.
Lakshmi Lal broke down under strict police interrogation and confessed to his crime. He told that there was a dispute going on between the two brothers for a long time regarding a loan of Rs 10 lakh and property dispute. Due to this anger and greed to get the insurance claim, he made a dreadful plan. He called the elder brother home and at night, when he was fast asleep, he killed him by hitting him several times on the head with the back part of an axe. After this, the body was filled in a bag and thrown on the side of the highway so that the police would consider it an accident.
Police station in-charge Shraddha Panchori said that scientific and circumstantial evidence exposed the truth and ‘the complainant turned out to be the murderer of his brother’. The police have arrested the accused.
