The maximum temperature in most parts of the region was recorded below the season’s normal. India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted rain and thundershowers for Tuesday (May 12). ‘Yellow alert’ has been issued regarding this.
According to the Meteorological Department, the maximum temperature at Safdarjung station, considered the official temperature indicator of the national capital Delhi, was recorded at 37.5 degrees Celsius, two degrees less than normal. Earlier, the minimum temperature was slightly above normal at 27.1 degrees Celsius.
Maximum temperature in Palam, Ayanagar remained below normal
At the same time, the situation remained almost the same in both Palam and Ayanagar of Delhi. The maximum temperature in Palam was recorded at 36.7 degrees Celsius, below normal, while the maximum temperature in Ayanagar was also below normal at 37.2 degrees Celsius. The maximum temperature at Ridge and Lodhi Road stations also remained below average. A temperature of 36.8 degrees Celsius was recorded at both the places. Delhiites felt the heat throughout the day and there was no rain.
