Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived at Somnath Temple in Gujarat today (May 11) to participate in the Somnath Amrit Mahotsav. The PM offered prayers in the temple here. It is noteworthy that Somnath Amrit Parv is being celebrated on the 75th anniversary of the reconstruction of Somnath temple. This temple was consecrated in May 1951 after reconstruction. Due to completion of 75 years of the same event, many programs are to be organized in Somnath temple this year.



PM Modi took part in a road show after reaching Gujarat on Monday. Earlier he had paid tribute to Sardar Patel. Later he was welcomed at the Somnath Amrit Mahotsav and offered prayers at the temple and participated in the Kumbhabhishek, in which water from 11 pilgrimages was used.
