Preparations for Somnath Amrit Parva, the historical event of Somnath temple in Gujarat, are in the final stages. For the first time, Kumbhabhishek will be performed with water from 11 holy pilgrimages of the country from a special kalash on the grand peak of the temple, which will add a golden chapter to the glorious history of Somnath. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will witness this event on Monday. The specially prepared Kalash, about eight feet high, has a capacity of 1100 litres. Its entire structure weighs 1860 kg, of which the Kalash itself weighs 760 kg. Such a huge and technologically advanced Kalash is an example of amazing engineering in itself.

These celebrities including Prime Minister Modi will be included

Along with PM Modi, Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel and Deputy Chief Minister Harsh Sanghvi will also participate in the program. Apart from this, thousands of devotees from across the country and abroad are reaching Somnath to witness this divine moment. Earlier, a rehearsal of Kumbhabhishek had also taken place in the presence of the Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister. Somnath temple is decorated with flowers for this great festival. Special security arrangements have been made by the administration for the grand event. Security forces have been deployed in the temple premises and surrounding areas.

Kalash will be installed on the peak in just three minutes

Officials said, this urn has been prepared after months of hard work. With the help of a 90 meter high crane, this huge Kumbh will be carefully transported to the peak of the temple. With the help of state-of-the-art remote control system and sensor system, in just three minutes, the peak consecration will be done with the sacred water of 11 holy places amidst the chanting of Vedic mantras, blowing of conch shells and the echo of bells from the Kalash installed on the peak. This scene will be a unique confluence of history with faith, science and tradition.

South Indian tradition adopted

According to religious beliefs, Shikhar Kumbhabhishek is held at an interval of 10 to 12 years in the temples of South India. But this event is being organized for the first time in Somnath temple, due to which its historical and spiritual importance has increased even more.
