Tripta Thapar, mother of Captain Vijayant Thapar, who was sacrificed in the Kargil war, still lives with her son’s memories. Captain Varun Chhibber, son of Sunita Chhibber, resident of Sector-27, sacrificed his life in Kishtwar in 2009. While in the army, he performed important responsibilities in difficult hilly areas and earned recognition for his courage. Sunita Chhibber says that whenever there is news of tension or any military operation on the country’s borders, she remembers her son. She says that even today she sees a glimpse of her son in every soldier protecting the country. According to him, sacrificial sons not only secure the country but also immortalize their mother forever.
