On the lines of Delhi Metro, stations on Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut Namo Bharat corridor will now be named after brands. NCRTC has started the process of granting semi-naming and co-branding rights for 21 stations, which will give huge publicity to the companies and NCRTC is expected to earn lakhs.
The National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC) has issued tenders for awarding semi-naming and co-branding rights for 21 stations of the Namo Bharat corridor. Under this scheme, companies will be able to associate their brand with the name of the station, so that their name will remain associated with the identity of the station for a long time. This initiative is being considered special because till now more than 3 crore passengers have traveled on the Namo Bharat Corridor.
In such a situation, companies will get an opportunity to reach out to millions of people simultaneously. According to the tender, the license period will initially be 10 years, which can be extended by another 5 years with mutual consent. This means the brand can remain associated with the station for a long time.
The interests of both the company and the corporation are linked.
In this scheme, companies will not only get the opportunity to add name but also get branding opportunity in every part of the station. This includes concourses, platforms, entry-exit gates, external pillars (piers). This will make the brand reachable not only to the passengers traveling to and from the station but also to the people passing by on the road. The name of the co-branded station will also be taken in the announcements in trains.
The brand logo will be visible on the map of the stations and companies will also be given the facility to set up kiosks. With this, companies will be able to connect directly with customers. The 21 stations for which this opportunity is being given include Sarai Kale Khan, New Ashok Nagar, Anand Vihar, Sahibabad, Ghaziabad, Duhai, Muradnagar, Modi Nagar South and North, Meerut South, Partapur, Rithani, Shatabdi Nagar, Brahmapuri, Meerut Central, Bhaisali, Begumpul, MES Colony, Daurali, Meerut North and Modipuram.
NCRTC says that all these stations are near densely populated areas, markets and educational institutions, which will give more exposure to the brand. NCRTC believes that with this initiative, while the companies will get a bigger market, it will also get good income, which will strengthen future projects.
