On the suicide alert received from Meta Company in Agra, Uttar Pradesh, the media cell of Agra Police took prompt action and saved the life of a 17-year-old student in just 11 minutes. Information about a student posting a suicide note, hurt by a breakup with a Facebook friend, was received through e-mail at 1:49 pm. In the suicide post, the student had written, Amma, please forgive me. Under the direction of Police Commissioner Agra Deepak Kumar, the student’s location was immediately traced and the Jaitpur police station was informed, after which the team left for the spot without wasting time.
Without wasting any time, the police rescued the student safely and are taking him along for counselling. This work of the police is being appreciated a lot. Otherwise another life would have gone into depression today.
What is the whole matter?
When Jaitpur police station reached the student’s house, he was preparing to commit suicide in his room with a bottle of pesticide and a rope. The policemen showed promptness and informed the family about the situation and immediately reached the room and stopped the student from taking such a step. Due to timely intervention the student was saved safely. After this, the police calmed down the student and got him counseling, due to which he returned to normal condition.
Was hurt by breaking of social media friendship
During interrogation, the student told that he had come under mental stress due to disputes and separation in friendships formed through social media. The family members have appreciated this sensitive and prompt action of the police. It is noteworthy that under the arrangement between Meta and Uttar Pradesh Police since 2022, lives of 2700 people have been saved between January 1, 2023 and April 30, 2026, while the Social Media Cell of Commissionerate Agra has succeeded in saving the lives of 58 people in the last one year.

After the suicide post on Instagram, the media cell of Commissionerate Agra took immediate action on the alert received from Meta. According to Assistant Police Commissioner Saiya and Nodal Officer Media Cell Dr. Sukanya Sharma, Jaitpur police station was sent to the spot in just 11 minutes, where the 17-year-old youth was saved from attempting suicide. Due to timely intervention, the young man’s life could be saved.
