Maharashtra Crime News: A very shameful and disgusting incident has come to light from Maharashtra, where an electrical engineering student was seduced and raped by a relative and later blackmailed and tortured her repeatedly. Troubled by this physical harassment, the student tried to commit suicide by drinking acid. At present his condition remains critical.
It is being told that the victim’s father had already died and her mother was working hard and teaching her. Meanwhile, the accused young man initially lured her into his trap by talking sweetly and then kept exploiting her again and again through blackmail and threats. On April 8, before the last exam paper, fed up with his atrocities, the student drank the acid kept in the bathroom, after which she was immediately admitted to the hospital.
Took him to Mahabaleshwar by luring him with sweet talks
According to the information, on September 14, 2025, the victim was standing at the bus stop at 10 am to go to Indapur, when the accused Atish Pandurang Tavte came there. He asked her to drop her to college and made her sit in his car. After sitting in the car, the accused talked sweetly to the victim and asked her to go for a walk and took her to a hotel in Mahabaleshwar, where he forcibly exploited her.
After this, the accused threatened to kill her if she told anything to anyone and dropped her to college the next day. Not only this, on October 2025, the accused again committed atrocities by threatening to make the video and photo viral. After this, he kept blackmailing her and forcing her to meet him.
The family is wandering from door to door for treatment.
After the incident, the victim was first admitted to hospitals in Pandharpur, then Pune and Solapur, but no significant improvement was seen in her condition. According to the family, Rs 3-4 lakhs have been spent on the treatment so far and now due to lack of money, he has been admitted to a private hospital in Karakamb. Due to drinking acid, the victim was not able to speak for several days and her condition is still said to be very critical.

Case registered, yet accused absconding
On April 11, the victim’s mother had filed a case against the accused at Karakamba Police Station. Despite this, even after a month, the accused has been seen roaming freely, after which there is an atmosphere of anger in the family.
Family members allege that accused Aatish Tavte is married and does gold business in Dubai. The family members have demanded from the police that the accused should be immediately arrested and the harshest punishment should be given to him.
