A unique spectacle of fitness and enthusiasm was seen in the capital on Saturday night, when Night Runner Delhi 2026 was organized at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium. In the women’s category of half marathon, Rekha Rawat secured first place with a time of 1:42:36. Anupama Sharma stood second and Neelanjana De Singh stood third.

In the men’s category, Jonathan Isherwood won with a time of 1:24:35, while Ajay Yadav stood second and Siddharth Solanki stood third. Based on the theme of The City Runs After Dark, thousands of runners participated in this mega event and ran in the darkness of the night amidst lights, music and excitement.

The event had three categories of half marathon (21.1 km), 10.5 km and 5 km. Participants of every age group participated enthusiastically in this race which started at 7 pm.

Rohit came first in 5 km class

In the men’s 5 km race, Rohit Singh Chauhan won with a timing of 19:06 minutes, while Ravi Singh and Vimal Maurya finished second and third respectively. In the women’s category, Radha Kishori secured the first position with a timing of 23:15. Tanveer Kaur Dhillon stood second and Elena Savelyeva stood third.

Chandni number one in 10.5 km

Tough competition was also seen in the 10.5 km race. In the women’s category, Chandni secured first place with a time of 45:58. Jayanti Thapliyal stood second and Katie Roos stood third. In the men’s category, Ayush Sharma won with a timing of 40:43, while Rakesh Kumar Saran stood second and Ankit Tyagi stood third.

the atmosphere felt like a celebration

DJ music, lights and cheer zone at the venue made the atmosphere festive, which doubled the enthusiasm of the runners. This event emerged as a symbol of the growing fitness craze in the capital and gave the message that now Delhi is ready to run not only during the day but also at night.
