Bareilly News: Suspense on Maulana’s death, police said it was an accident, family members alleged assault

A Maulana died under suspicious circumstances in Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh. This incident is now taking the form of a controversy. Police are calling it a normal accident, but the allegations of the family and some organizations have made the matter sensitive.

Different claims are coming out regarding the death of Maulana Tausif Raza in Bareilly district. According to the police, at around 7:25 am on April 27, information was received about a dead body being found near the railway track. The team that reached the spot identified the deceased as Tausif, a resident of Kishanganj, Bihar. Based on preliminary investigation, police say that it could be an accident.

According to officials, Tausif was standing near the door of the train and fell down, possibly due to deteriorating health, due to which he died. After post-mortem the body was handed over to the relatives. However, as information about the incident became public, questions started being raised on it. Some political and social organizations have demanded an impartial investigation into the matter. On one hand, the demand for investigation has intensified, on the other hand, the matter has become more complicated due to different statements coming out regarding the incident.

National President of All India Jamaat, Maulana Shahbuddin has alleged that Tausif had come to attend a religious program organized in Bareilly and while returning, he was assaulted and robbed in the train. He claims that some people pushed him from the train, due to which he lost his life. The deceased’s wife Tabassum has also made serious allegations. She says that during the incident, her husband had made a video call to her and told her that some people were assaulting her. She told that she asked her husband to seek help from other passengers, but no one came forward. Tabassum also claims that she saw her husband being beaten during the call.

There should be an impartial investigation into this matter

Shahabuddin raised questions on the police’s theory and said that if it was just an accident, then why is the news of assault coming to the fore. According to him, the entire matter should be investigated impartially. At present, the police say that initially it was considered an accident and at that time the family also believed the same. But now new allegations are being made by the family members. Officials have clarified that if a formal complaint is given by the family, further legal action will be taken in the matter.

Police assured the victim’s family of action

Bareilly Police, while clarifying its position on the entire incident, said that action was taken as soon as the information was received. According to SP City Manush Pareek, after the body was found, all necessary legal procedures were completed and post-mortem was conducted. He said that initially the matter seemed to be an accident, but now the family members are suspecting assault. The police have talked to the family and have assured to take action as per rules after receiving the complaint.
