Sisters Express Desire To Change Husbands, Unique Case Brought Before Gwalior High Court Bench – Gwalior News

A unique case came to light in the Gwalior Bench of Madhya Pradesh High Court, which shocked everyone from the court room to the common people. The case that started with kidnapping allegations turned into a family dispute during the hearing, in which two real sisters expressed their desire to exchange their husbands.

The case began with a habeas corpus petition filed by Girija Shankar, a resident of Datia. It was alleged that a person named Mayaram had kept his wife and daughter hostage. On this the High Court directed the police to produce the woman. When the woman was presented in the court during the hearing, the whole matter took a turn. The woman said that she was not kidnapped but was living with Mayaram, who is her real son-in-law, of her own free will. She has already filed for divorce from her husband.

The matter took a more shocking turn when Mayaram’s wife did not raise any objection. On the contrary, she told the court that if her elder sister wants to live with her husband, she has no objection. He also expressed his desire to live with his brother-in-law. Both the sisters said before the court that they were not satisfied with their present married life. They want to start a new life with each other’s husband with mutual consent. The special thing is that both the women also have children.

Looking at the entire incident, the High Court clarified that since both the women are adults and are taking decisions of their own free will, it cannot be considered a case of kidnapping. The court said that this is a dispute within the family and not a criminal case. On this basis the habeas corpus petition was rejected. On behalf of the government side, Additional Government Advocate DK Sharma said that the woman clearly told the court that she is living with her brother-in-law voluntarily and wants to stay there in future also.
