In Bihar, Samrat Chaudhary has taken oath as the Chief Minister. He has become the first Chief Minister of BJP. Samrat Chaudhary also has associations with Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) and JDU. Samrat Chaudhary alias Rakesh Kumar started his political career from RJD. He also contested elections several times from this party. However, amidst victory and defeat, he joined BJP through Nitish Kumar’s Janata Dal-United (JDU).
The BJP’s identity with the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) gives it a large supporter and leadership base.
