Pilibhit News: Threat to blow up Pilibhit Passport Office, nothing suspicious found after hours of search

The district administration was shaken by the mail threat on Monday to blow up the passport office located at the head post office in Pilibhit, Uttar Pradesh, with a cyanide bomb. The police, along with the officers who immediately reached the spot, sounded the siren and evacuated the office, and the bomb disposal team conducted a thorough investigation in every room, street and surrounding areas. But no suspicious activity was found.

After a thorough investigation that lasted for several hours, the administration declared the situation normal. But the authorities have started a cyber investigation regarding the threat received through e-mail. But there is no information about the arrest or detention of any suspect.

Threat was received through e-mail

It is being told that after receiving the information about the bomb blast through e-mail from the divisional office on Monday morning, a threat was made to blow it up at 1:15 pm. After which there was chaos and panic among the staff including Passport Officer Girish Chandra Visht and Ramesh Mishra. After which the electricity of the office was cut off as a precaution.

Bomb disposal squad checked

After intensive investigation by deploying the police LIU team along with the bomb disposal team, they declared the situation normal and said that there was no threat of any kind. According to the information, these threats include Pilibhit district and many other districts like Amroha, Badaun, Rampur, Shahjahanpur. Security agencies have become alert regarding the threat of bomb explosion.

Regarding the whole matter, Superintendent of Police Sukirti Madhav said that according to the information received, other agencies including the police team have been sent and agencies have been deployed. No undesirable suspicious situation has been found, the situation is normal at present. The person sending the mail will be searched soon.
